KETV: Sixth annual Striving for Success African-American Male Summit held

OMAHA, Neb. —Nearly 200 freshman boys from Omaha Public Schools received some inspiration Tuesday.

The students took time out of class to attend the sixth annual Striving For Success African-American Male Summit at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs.

Students listened to stories of overcoming adversity from successful African-American professionals in different fields.

“These are individuals in the community, ones they can identify with and share their story and hopefully provide someone these young can men can role model and emulate,” president and CEO of Urban League of Nebraska Thomas Warren said.
