WOWT: Metro program helping teens, young adults find employment

The Empowerment Network and the city of Omaha are working together to provide summer employment and training for youth 14 to 21 years of age. Step up Omaha is accepting online job applications right now and this year organizers hope to expand the program.

Organizers told WOWT 6 News they hope to increase the number of participants in the step up program from 420 to 600. The Empowerment Network, city officials and Step Up program sponsors kicked off their application drive Tuesday morning. Empowerment Network’s Willie Barney said competition for the 600 jobs will be intense.
