WOWT: “Day of Caring” brings volunteers out to the masses

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The annual boost for community involvement hosted by the United Way of the Midlands continued in Omaha Friday with the “Day of Caring.”

Taking the morning for some yard work, pulling weeds and raking them into a pile outside of the Urban League of Nebraska, volunteers took a day off from work to give back.  “That was the best part of it, to know that it wasn’t just our team from our company, it was several other companies that are involved,” said Ernie Carr with Cox Communications. “Omaha really does show up and represent, that’s a good thing.”
