2019 Omaha NAACP Juneteenth Parade

The Omaha NAACP sponsors the Juneteenth Parade Celebration each year. Juneteenth marks the day when a quarter-million slaves in Texas first learned of their freedom. It was on June 19, 1865 that Union soldiers arrived in Galveston with news that the Civil War had ended and the enslaved were now free.

 

– Registration Deadline for participants is June 13, 2019

No entries will be accepted after this date.

– All parade participants are strongly encouraged to attend Parade Orientation to review registration, line-up, dissemination of candy/incentives, police presence, parade marshals, traffic rules, performance stops and end of parade direction.

Please attend Parade Orientation on either June 6 OR June 13 at Washington Branch Library from 6-7:30PM.

– NO PAYMENT, NO PARTICIPATION. NO EXCEPTIONS!
