The 3rd Annual Striving for Success Summit will motivate African-American 9th grade males to pursue excellence in education and will receive presentations from local experts in the areas of: education, business, health, faith, finance and the justice system.
This audience is being targeted because they have been identified as being at-risk for failing to graduate from high school, being under employed and over-represented in the criminal justice system. Also, this event will serve as a fundraiser for the three agencies that are providing much needed services that will have a direct impact on reversing this trend.
Youth registration is free — sign up by September 3, 2012 to ensure admission to this motivational and inspirational workshop for young men.
The luncheon, featuring keynote speaker and former University of Nebraska All-American quarterback Tommie Frazier, is open to the public. Tickets are available for $75.
The Urban League of Nebraska is taking sponsors for the Summit.
