Young Professionals


The ULN YP Chapter is a volunteer auxiliary of the Urban League of Nebraska. Our mission is to engage young professionals in the National Urban League’s movement toward the achievement of social and economic equality. It’s time to take your place as a leader in this community, and the Urban League of Nebraska Young Professionals can help you. Membership is open to any young professional ages 21-40, from any career. The Urban League of Nebraska Young Professionals focuses on:

  • Networking for YP’s of color
  • Youth Development and Mentoring
  • Professional & Leadership Development Training for YP’s of Color
  • Promotion of YP’s of color for positions of leadership within the community

$50 is the cost for a Young Professional membership.

The ULN Young Professionals holds general membership meetings on the third Monday of every month from 6 to 7 p.m.  Meetings are held at the Urban League of Nebraska Family Resource Center (3040 Lake Street), local businesses, corporate partners or community partners.  A social/networking time takes place before each meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m.

In support of maintaining success in our core focuses members are encouraged to participate in one of our many committees.


This committee will seek to spread the reach of our group by improving membership enrollment and retention, and be open to the ideas of all members.

Exists as a liaison between ULNYP functions and the greater Omaha community.

This committee will identify avenues and organize opportunities for the ULNYP to effectively donate time and energy to the betterment of our communities. This will be accomplished by supporting the efforts of the Urban League of Nebraska and other local charities and organizations.

This committee will create opportunities for social engagement within the ULNYP membership and with external organizations while identifying opportunities for fund development.
